What is rhinoplasty nose surgery? Rhinoplasty surgery can be performed for aesthetic reasons or to fix breathing problems. Rhinoplasty performed for aesthetic reasons helps the person achieve a more beautiful nose that is compatible with the shape of their face.
What is rhinoplasty nose surgery?
Rhinoplasty performed to fix breathing problems is effective in treating problems such as nasal congestion, snoring and sleep apnea. Rhinoplasty surgery is usually performed under general anesthesia. The duration of the surgery may vary depending on the extent of the surgery. A simple rhinoplasty surgery usually takes 1-2 hours. A more extensive rhinoplasty surgery may take 3-4 hours.
After rhinoplasty surgery, swelling and bruising may occur in the nose. This swelling and bruising usually subsides within the first few weeks after surgery. After surgery, the nose is covered with packing for approximately 6 weeks. These packings are used to prevent blood and fluids placed during surgery from draining out.
The recovery process after rhinoplasty surgery usually takes 6-12 months. During this time, swelling and bruising in the nose disappear completely. It usually takes 1-2 years for the nose shape to completely settle.
Rhinoplasty surgery can be a good option for changing the shape and size of the nose. However, it is important to do careful research and choose an experienced surgeon before undergoing surgery.
Some points to consider after rhinoplasty surgery are:
- Follow your doctor’s instructions.
- Drink plenty of fluids.
- Take your painkillers regularly.
- Protect your nose from impacts.
- Do not lift weights or do strenuous exercise.
- Do not smoke.
- Protect yourself from the sun.
